The King Bomber pays tribute the legendary Martin Luther King and his legacy of justice for all. Embroidered on the sleeves are the MLK silhouette and Lafayette Blvd. In 1967 the original school; Eastern Highschool was moved from Mack and Grand Blvd to its new location on Lafayette Blvd. In 1968, after the assassination of Dr. King; the school was renamed in honor of the Dr King's legacy.
